📰 Key PPC Updates for March
Rest assured, the Geek’s are already jumping on these to optimise your accounts for you.
#1: Google Adds Search Term Visibility to Performance Max
Google has rolled out a key update to Performance Max campaigns, giving advertisers more transparency and control.
Search Terms Visibility: Advertisers can now view the specific search terms that trigger their ads within the standard Search Terms report.
Direct Addition of Negative Keywords: The update allows advertisers to add negative keywords directly from the Search Terms report, streamlining the process of refining ad targeting.
PPC Geeks Take: This update brings Performance Max closer to standard Search campaigns in terms of visibility. It gives us more data to fine-tune your campaigns and better align them with your business goals.
#2: Google Launches Asset Testing for Performance Max Campaigns
Google has introduced a new Asset Testing feature for retailers using Performance Max campaigns. It helps you measure how effective your creative assets (like images, videos, and text) are—without needing to create duplicate campaigns.
How it works:
-
Your campaign is split into two groups:
-
Control group: Product feed-only ads
-
Treatment group: Product feed + creative assets
-
-
Traffic is divided between both, and results are shown in the Experiment report.
PPC Geeks Take: This enables easy performance comparison—across metrics like conversions, CTR, and ROAS—and provides retailers with data-driven insights on whether investing in additional creative assets leads to meaningful results.
#3: Google Shopping now shows ‘Price at Checkout’
Google Shopping now displays ‘Price at Checkout’ in both paid and organic listings to improve pricing transparency and avoid surprises for shoppers.
This update helps reinforce Google’s strict policies against misleading pricing and builds user trust. It may also encourage retailers to maintain consistent pricing from listing to checkout, as discrepancies can lead to account suspension.
PPC Geeks Take: This improves transparency by showing the final price upfront, helping shoppers avoid surprises at checkout that can lead to frustration or abandoned carts.
💼 Case Study Spotlight: UK Flat Roofing
Conversions up 51% | Conversion Value up 32% YoY
UK Flat Roofing partnered with PPC Geeks after our initial audit revealed tracking inaccuracies and budget inefficiencies. We began by overhauling tracking and optimising their shopping feed, followed by driving growth in evergreen product lines and testing new strategies to expand reach.
In just the first three months, we delivered a 160% increase in conversion rate and a 36% boost in ROAS, leading to a 147% increase in purchases and a 90% revenue uplift over six months.
“Starting with PPC Geeks over a year ago was an excellent investment for our company! Our PPC performance has massively improved with impressive ROAS growth… we would highly recommend them to anyone looking to really boost their PPC!”
Now 12 months in, we continue to support their growth—consulting on landing pages, campaign expansion, and long-term strategy.

Are there key events or launches I should be planning for?
